Will I fit into the car? I'm 6'4", 36" inseam, 37" sleeves if it helps approximate.

I was comfortable in my 928; had to put the seat in the rear most mounting holes, pedals forward. My head was only 1/2" from the sunroof, and reclined the seat until it hit the inner speaker areas of the quarter panel. Would I fit into a Cayman comfortably? Is there anyone really tall that drives one here?

I'm 6'4" tall and have pretty long legs (haven't measured my inseam) and I fit just fine in my Cayman R. I do have the seat set as far back and as low as it will go, but I'm very comfortable and love the cozy cabin of the 987.2.

I'm 6'4", 36" inseam, 37" sleeve, and I fit in my 987.1 Cayman. But just barely. The problem is not headroom, it's legroom.
The 981 is larger. I have sat in one at a dealership and I immediately recognized that there was more room.

Thanks! That's the kind of thing I wanted to hear. Now I can trudge on down to the dealer and try one on for size. THEN the shopping can begin. Probably spend a lot of time reading this forum first, though, before buying.

Another one for poor legroom. I'm 6'3" and only have a 34" inseam. On long drives the slightly cocked leg position is uncomfortable. Try the 981 for sure.

I agree with rf330. I am 6'3" with an inseam of about 34/35 and there is plenty of leg room. I sit all the way back, but would probably be fine moving forward a click or two. (I have manual seats.) No issues with headroom.

The power seat options are a must for tall drivers IMHO. I am 6'3" with a 34" inseam and wasn't comfortable in a 981 without the 14 way seats. Very comfortable with them because of the tilt feature and power thigh extension. Try it you will see the difference!

I'm only six feet tall with a 33" inseam, and I get tired of the knee bending angle in the 987.1!
944 had much more legroom. I feel like i need an extra inch at least.
I sat in the 718 at the unveiling a month ago, and it had much more legroom. I'd definitely be fine in it, and if the 981 is the same, it would be great.

I'm 6'1" and have been 911 hunting (please don't throw rocks at me), due in part to lack of leg room in my 987.1. It's fine running around town and on the track, but on long stints, I long for extra legroom... Cramming my foot under the clutch for a little extra stretch is not only inconvenient, but it makes me nervous as hell, even on cruise control.

My wife and I have road-trip vacationed in our 996 twice and in our 987 Boxster twice and we recall the 996 as being the best car for that duty. Partly due to the additional cabin room, and also due to the heavier, more stable, insulated ride that it gave.
But if I still had both cars in the garage, I would choose the Boxster (or my Cayman) for a quick trip to work, the store, or a run in the hills more often than the 996 because the mid-engine cars are more agile, engaging, intimate, etc.

My last DE instructor was about your size. The trouble he had was that he barely fit in my 987.2. With his helmet on he didn't fit because his helmet rubbed the headliner. I felt for him because he was clearly physically uncomfortable. (It didn't help that he had sprained his ankle the night before a 3-day DE.) Thankfully, I'm a decent enough driver that he felt very comfortable with me driving. We had a lot of fun exploring the capabilities of a 987.2 S with a PDK. :-)
