Default Cayman R LSD rebuild

Looking at this job....are the Motorsports gt3 plates suitable. I read a Matt Monsan thread that showed the Cayman to have smaller plates than the gt3.

Can they fit?

Do Guard do a replacement stack?.....I'll email Matt.

Anyone done this job? Not looking for a new diff...just to freshen up the one in there.

Thanks

The stock Cayman R LSD isn't really rebuildable, due to a lack of parts. Matt Monson decided a while ago to not bother offering a rebuild kit, since he didn't think there would be sufficient sales to justify the expense. The plates are not the same size as the GT3 parts. And, Porsche doesn't offer parts for that LSD.

So, you're basically left with having to buy a new diff. Fortunately, there are lots of options available: Quaife, Guard, WaveTrac, OS Giken, etc. I had put an OS Giken in my old R; it worked very nicely, but started to chatter at parking lot speeds after a while.

I have a LSD that came out of my R with only 550 miles on it. PM me if you're interested in buying it.

What sort of LSD did you replace it with Kean? Keen to hear your opinions on it. Cheers

I replaced it with a Guard. Works great. But not cheap!
