Introducing Custom TPC Racing 981 ECU Tune via Cobb Tuning Accessport

TPC Racing is offering 10% off all 981 Turbo Kits and ECU Tunes from now through the end of the week.

Using his GT4 as a test mule, owner/engineer, Mike Levitas, worked tirelessly through the holiday weekend to develop a custom TPC Racing ECU tune for the 981 platform via the Cobb Tuning Accessport. Cobb had been hard at work cracking the code for the 981, and we couldn't have been more excited when they released its support earlier in November.

After receiving his Accessport, Levitas spent a few days using the Cobb Tuning base map and street testing the tune for his GT4. With all the respect to Cobb for producing an excellent product and cracking the factory ECU code to make it possible, Mike felt that there was still untapped potential in the tuning.

The day after Thanksgiving, Levitas brought his GT4 into the shop for dyno testing and tuning. After spending most of a day re-calibrating dyno equipment to ensure the most accurate reading, Levitas was ready for tuning.

His first observation was that any gains from the Cobb Tuning base map was minimal. Using the Accessport and their tuning software, Levitas modified parameters in the torque load tables, ignition tables, throttle tables, and intake cam tables. After working through the weekend in these various tables and putting hours of dyno testing on his GT4, Levitas was able to get an extra 13 horsepower to the wheel! For the GT4, we are currently developing other power packages that we will share more about soon!

The Cobb Accessport will now also be used for all of the tuning on our 981 turbo kits.
