ehh pdk is cool and it adds performance, but I would prefer a manual. I am unsure how well a pdk would react with modifications to the engine.

What kind of power increase are talking with these engine modifications? The PDK is a very robust.

FYI 2009 is the lowest production run, there was a 2010 in the classifieds recently.

Edit: Found the 2010 in the classifieds - https://rennlist.com/forums/vehicle-...t-exhaust.html

it's not as much as the robustness as the ability for it to shift at the right times. I want to try and increase the rev limit and I feel having a manual would facilitate that better. as far as the advertisement I guess I should clarify some things. first, thank you for finding it. second I'm on a bit of a lower budget I am looking for a used cayman s manual in the range of 28-33k which may seem low but I know it can be done. 2009 with maybe 60k+.. I don't necessarily want to pay for the CPO or low milage of a newer car.

The PDK is smarter than the driver for shift points, you might want to look to BGB or another builder for advice on that. However, for me it's not about the PDK being better than human because I like to shift and be engaged.

Cayman S production numbers for 2009 was only 725 units, but I was wrong on it being the lowest production year. 2012 only had 125 units.

Good luck in your search, make sure you keep an eye on the classifieds at planet-9 and pelican as well as here.

Hi, About to take possession of an '09 S with limited slip, PASM, and a few other niceties for $33k with 19k miles. Hope that is a good reference point.

@ hobojoe. yeah but i can imagine drifting would be harder... yes I want to drift a cayman LOL. and if I increase rev limit im not sure I can program a new powerband into the car or how that would work at all. my closest experience is SMG paddles on bmw :P.. so yeah it may shift at 7500 or wherever but if I want it to now shift at say... 9000 how would I go about it.

and
@dave where did you find it?

edit: I found an article just now that makes me worried about the PDK. http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showtopic=176298

Dave it sounds like you got one heck of a deal!

Sammy if you're looking for that kind of power, I hope you have deep pockets. Also, please post your progress!

I was tipped off by our P club track guy. He has his GT3 and cup car serviced at the place I bought it. He was going to buy it and drive it a few years then sell for a profit. So...it was an easy decision.

Very good buy Dave! Not even the color I was looking for but I wouldn't have passed that deal up!

Hopefully Sammy is as lucky!
