John:

Are you adding additional cooling to the PDK clutch or just to the regular TA oil?

John,

Thank you for all the knowledge you've shared with Rennlist. Your enthusiasm for the Cayman helped convince me to undertake my project. I'm sorry for not communicating my choice to go with a different shop. Over the last year, I have sought out estimates from several shops (CSR, Napleton, Deman, BGB, etc). Based on the success of the BGB GX Cayman, it is clear that you build a great car. Thanks for any assistance you've given Chris in getting my car up and running.

Have you gotten the car out again yet? are you running with traction control?

Thanks, Mike

Went back out to Road Atlanta with Chin 2 weeks ago. Good fun. Lap times about 4 seconds faster after race exhaust and LSD.

I press psm off switch, but that doesn't fully disable traction control. I try to drive as smooth as possible. i've not noticed much intervention. Good power out of corners. So far, a non issue.

Good luck with your build.

Hi Jcastle,
Do you mind sharing how much is the cost of rebuilding the car, just curious. May build one in future.

There is a huge range: year and condition of donor car, the specifics of the build, etc etc. You could add 30k to 80k to the price of a donor.

The test at Sebring went well. everything was good. PDK was flawless. I flogged the car as hard as I could in the later sessions as I got more comfortable with the car and the track and no psm intervention that I noticed. I was thinking of running one day at MO ovr but not sure. I have to get the car ready to race for the following weekend at MO for NASA. I am getting it dyno'ed this week so I will know whether I am running slicks or dots.

My best time was in the 2:25's. I was struggling with T1 and T17. I also had trouble getting a launch out of 16 due to all the rubber on the track.

Nice work for a 3.4L.
Aprrox Same lap times as my RS, mid 2:20's

The 3.8L must really take it up a notch! Sub 2:20s?

I really got the itch for one of these!!

I would hope to run 2:21-2:23 at Sebring with the car fully sorted. But, not likely to be at Sebring any time soon. I ran a 1:36 at mid Ohio and hope to get into the 1:32 to !:33's this season.

I picked up a 2010 CS and going to slowly mod it until I do the pull build in the summer. In terms of additional coolers...should a PDK cooler and a diff cooler both be added? I know that TPC makes a PDK cooler but does someone else make a diff cooler?
