Seat Belt Tensioner Fault Code 8009
My 2007 Cayman S has the following fault code: 8009 Driver's belt tensioner (above upper limit).
I have a Durametric Enthusiasts Edition but the fault code will not clear. Does this indicate that the tensioner is faulty? There has been no impact that would have triggered the device.
If replacement is the only option, is this something I can do myself? I have read that the tensioner has a pyrotechnic charge and wouldn't want to try replacement unless it can be done safely.
Any advice would be appreciated.
