Default 3.8L Cayman PDK vs. 3.8L 6 speed at MMC video

Nice 16 min. video with a great drag race scene at the end.

Both cars are equal HP and weight with matching equipment levels.

how is that wing different from the getty design wing? Also, does it actually provide noticeable downforce? if so, don't you have issues on the black car without the front lip to provide additional downforce on the front? I'm only asking because I've been considering one of these wings. Thanks.

Very nice. Still a fan of a manual on the street but no doubt PDK for track.

oh man does that ever get the jones for a Caymen with a 3.8L PDK!

All i can think about is a Caymen R with a 3.8L, Cup doors, Cup Seats, Cup wing..... wait a minute, i have alot of these parts! Now i just need to find me a caymen!

Might be time to retire the RS!
Afterall, a 3.8L is cheaper to replace then a GT3 engine!

Sounds like it, Tom - 3 posts in the Cayman world that I've seen today.

Sold my rs for the cayman. Primarily so I could race in the interseries

Not to mention it is cheaper, easier and more fun to de this car too.

Felt guilty about tracking the rs. Such a nice car and hard to protect when you are following other de cup guys at Sebring.

It is all fun.

I must also admit, I don't miss the centerlock.

Guys,

I love hearing that you are dumping the 997.2 GT3s and going the Cayman route. It's hard to argue with when replacement motors cost $14K and gearboxes are under $4K. I have been getting a lot of calls lately about Interseries cars and intersted parties. Good luck with the hunting. Try the NE shops.

Any chance of marketing the parts and electronics to allow customers to build their own 3.8L PDK monsters?
