Default Strut issues

Hi All,

I have been having some issues with the rear struts in my 08 Cayman S. When going over bumps I can see the top concave washers move and can hear them jingle like loose change. Also, the left rear is making a clunking sound like there is a loose bolt. I am unfamiliar with struts and even more with a Porsche. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Wanderer

The top rear strut bolts are normally hidden under plastic trim pieces. Are these trim pieces removed? If so, tighten the bolts.

Thanks for the reply. The trim is out currently. I have tried to tighten them but they do not seem to be loose. Do I turn the allen head or the nut? Both do seem tight.

UPDATE: I was able to tighten the nuts on the top of the rear struts but the problem still exists. When going over larger bumps I can see the strut shaft move up and down which is causing the washer to rattle. Is this up and down movement of the shaft normal?
