Watched wife back into my Cayman S
I was working on my 951 track car when my wife headed out on an errand. I had the great displeasure of then watching her back the van straight into the passenger door, putting a about 1ft long dent in it.
Over the summer, someone swiped the driver's side door, handle, and rear quarter panel, putting about 1ft long dents in each panel and a long, deep scratch on the handle.
The most dangerous time for the Cayman is when it is parked!
Now, with dents on each side, is my insurance company going to charge me one deductible or two, since the damage occurred during separate events?

Race Car
Get her a new minivan with a parktronic option so she can at least hear the alarm or see the Cayman in the rear camera when she tries to back into it again.

Get her a Toyota Prius hybrid. Those cars have a rear view navigator on the center dash--watch a video of what's behind you as you back up. Just rode in one this afternoon. That's a true 21st century car. Remarkable technology. It's so quiet, it's stealthy. Now, if it only had 5 speed and some getgo, I'd buy one.

Back up Damage
Sorry to hear about it... I had a similar experience. My wife has the backup sensor on her car now and she gets so close now to stuff when she backs up it sounds like she has missle lock in "Top Gun".

I went to the pharmacy last night to pick up a prescription for my wife. The parking lot was full of SUVs being driven by women who appeared to have little or no idea where the fenders of their SUVs were. The five minutes that I waited for the prescription was the longest five minutes in my life. As I was walking to my car, a woman was backing out of a parking slot opposite my car, She was going about 1 mile per hour, and I'm almost certain that she never looked out of her back window as she backed out. I suppose that she just backs out real slowly until her car meets some resistance, like another car, wall, etc., and then she stops and proceeds forward.
