Default New 06 Cayman S discount.

I worked really hard for this offer from my local dealership.
its black on black 06 Cayman S with 40 miles.
MSRP is 64235
But with 12% discount out get me out the door for 61500 with tax paid(7.75%) out.
I liked the sound of deal.
Should I take it?

Could you get them down a few more dollars? Probably, but if you really like the car, why risk losing it to someone else while you try to save another 1%?

That sounds like my car! Sticker was ~$64100, before tax price about $56K, which was almost dead-nuts at invoice. At that price, the dealer still made some money. There have been various reports that Porsche did offer some dealer incentives at the end of last year.

For a left over '06, you should not be paying anything above invoice, and with some bargaining, potentially less. I was happy with my deal, but there have been reports of even better deals out there.

I'm going to choose one out of these two.

06 Black Cayman S Msrp $64235 for $56589 (12%)
06 Cobalt blue Cayman S MSRP $68855 for $58855 (15%)

What would you go for?

Default New '06

The one you like more. But seriously, do not pay more than invoice. The dealer will still get his holdback, and should be happy to get rid of old stock.

Are you certain that Porsche has holdbacks?

I have a black car and I'm not certain that I'd buy another. They look great when clean, but are they high maintenance and if you look at them sideways, there's likely to be a swirl left in the paint. So I'd go with the bue car.

How do you find out what invoice is? Neither KBB nor Edmunds lists it.

Besides turbos, gts and brand new models (for the first 2/3 months) porsches should be moving at invoice plus 500-2000 depending on region/dealer availibility.

Getting 10% off should be easy and accepted practice, NEVER pay over MSRP for a porsche.

Thanks I'm gonna go with 06 black one for out the door price of $61,000.

It has 19" sport design with colored crests, Bose sound, Xenon and black mat.
MSRP is $64,235 including destination charge.
I managed of savings of little more than 12% of that MSRP since It's 06 plus free Car Cover.
The dealer is located in Orange county.
I know they go for 14%~16% in northeast.

Default Holdback

This came up a few posts back--when i was shopping for a leftover, one dealer I spoke with quoted me a price, and said specifically that he would let the car go for invoice, but would keep the holdback. My comment was based on that converstion.
