I hear the 6spd will be available only with the sport chrono package??
Will it have the same option list as the S??

I am starting the build list in my mind now

The 6-speed is packaged with PASM rather than Sport Chrono.

Price will be shown on the order guide, but since it will be for both the 6-speed and the PASM, it should be more than just the PASM on the S. Since the Cayman will have 50 hp less than the S does, the ratios may be somewhat different than those on the S, but a 6-speed usually means closer ratios than a 5-speed. Other than for tracking, the 5-speed may even be "better" than the 6-speed in some respects. On the road, the S seems to have one too many gears to me. The top two gears are both "over-drives" (ratios less than 1), and, when accelerating on the open road, it's already over the speed limit in 3rd, with 3 more gears to go. On the track, I find that 5th is not a "pulling" gear; it's just a gear that I have to sometimes engage to keep from hitting the rev-limiter. The Porsche engineers probably know what they're doing with the S gearing, but I'm not in on it.

Even the regular 911 feels lacking in torque at 65 MPH in 6th. In a regular Cayman, you can forget about passing oomph if you cruise in 6th gear (think Corvette 6th gear woes). I agree with Jim that with a regular Cayman, 5 gears are probably all you can realistically use, unless you want to squeeze out another MPG or so on the freeway.
