Oh baby...

Also in the US...

From the first impression, this seems to be a car the purists are asking for. Man I can't wait to get all the details.

oh please, please, please let it be M64 derived dry sump engine! (i feel like the kid in the Christmas story asking santa for the B-B gun.)

What a stupid name! Boo! I predict the most popular option will be the badge delete.

You might be right about that....

I think it looks too much like the 911.

I am sure in person the difference in size will be more evident. I also don't like the name a bit weak. Why are they calling this a fourth model? Why not just the Boxster Coupe? I guess they would have to charge less for it then.

Photoshopped..

Here's a better one (because I did it!) based on the most recent spy photos.

Agreed. If they put the GT dry sump engine in this car, I don't care what they call it!

OMG, who at Porsche came up with that name "Cayman S"....

.... with "Cay" and "Man" and "Asssss", I can already imagine people making fun of the name already... :icon501:

Curt911 02-23-2005 06:23 PM

there is a big difference between the two pics above, anyone with an official pic from Porsche?

official pics arent out yet, they should be out in a few weeks.

Both of those pix look Photoshopped. look at the wheels how overly beefy they are. The first one is basically a 997 with Boxster side intakes. The intakes are also mis aligned in size and height (notice the first and second pictures' locations at or below the door handle).

Don't believe anything you see until Porsche finally spits it out. :to_order:

Yep. The one I did with the blue car was takend from the most recent spy photo. I would bet it's pretty accurate. I've seen spy photos of a black car in Autoweek that has the same shape. One rule of thumb...if it looks "too finished" it's Photoshopped. Porsche wouldn't take such nice photos until they formally announce the car. So any studio shot is a fake until Porsche says it's so.

Here's the original spy photo I did mine from. I think you can tell it's pretty much a disguised final production version. I just cleaned it up for art's sake.
