Default New to me 2008 Cayman S

Hi everyone. I will be picking up a 2008 Cayman S tomorrow. 50k miles, 6 speed. The lug bolts look at little worse for wear given how good the car looks. Looking at pelican they list a 50 mm and 45 mm lugs. Any idea which I would have?
TIA

Hi Lane,
The lug length depends on whether you're using wheel spacers. 45mm for no spacers and 50mm with 5mm spacers. Enjoy your CS.

The lug bolts start looking tired pretty quickly unless you go titanium. As a short term solution, I put on some black plastic caps about 5 years ago. They are still on and still look great. Not for the purest, but they work for me.

Congrats on the car! It’s a great car! My lug bolts looked pretty rough too. Get a shoe box, cut 4 holes in the top so that the threads slide down, spaced about 2-3” apart. Take 1 lug from each wheel and paint them w Rustoleum flat black paint, let drive 10 mins, and keep going until you get all 20 done, 4 at a time. Look like new again!
Enjoy in good health.

Another mildly non-useful response, the ones I just removed from my 08CS have about 28mm of thread and total length is just over 55mm. I put studs and lug nuts on the car and put the lug bolts on the shelf. Just FYI, I believe a little longer is not a problem as the bolt will simply extend out the back. You can confirm by sticking a screwdriver through and rotate the wheel to know they won't hit anything. Just don't go nuts with too long. Kinda why bolts are a bad choice, you cannot tell whether they're fully threaded visually.

The answer is, is that it depends on several things.

Talk to these people:

https://otisincla.com/product-catego...wheel-spacers/

Since you don't state what you have on your car it is difficult to know.

I have the stock wheels on my 06CS and so did this :

Took the OEM lugs bolts and put them on the 914. They fit perfect on the teener for the 2.0 fuchs believe it or not and then bought new bolts from Otis for the 987. Like the other poster suggested I painted the heads of the bolts exactly as he did on the old bolts

If you are not sure about the length take one out and measure it, so that you are sure. Once you buy them you are done from the supplier.

Oh...and congrats on the new to you 987. You will love it.

BTW when I talked to Otis they measure the thread length from the bottom of the RAD to the end of the bolt. The thread length is VERY important.
