981 vs 987 interior space
I've looked at 987s before and the problem was something like you couldn't recline with the seat base all the way back? Needless to say it wasn't going to work so I'm on my 6th and 7th 2+2 Porsches right now.
But 981s are getting cheaper and I've read they have more interior space. Any tall drivers out there who make the 981 work? I'm 6'4" and 36" inseam.

I’m 6’-4”, 36” inseam and I make my 987.1 work.
I have sat in a 981 and immediately noticed more room, but I haven’t driven one.
Yeah, not being able to recline the seat for a snooze at a rest stop limits somewhat, but even in the 987 there’s enough recline for a comfortable driving position for me.

I'm 6'9" with a 38" inseam. 981 with 18 way seats all the way back worked for me in a demo. Head room was close though. Not sure I could wear a helmet.

Yes, but you are only 6'5", 6'9" is only if including the afro... Surely you can get a helmet on and fit fine, Fletch.

Not sure if I will fit
I am a huge man, 6' 1" and 300 pounds, I have wanted a 911 since I was 6 years old. Until about 5 years ago my plan was to retire and buy a fair condition 911 targa with some miles for 10 to 15 k and love it and do clutch and brakes and front end and coffin arms etc myself. Seems like my 15 k car is now 30 k.
So the porsche bug is still with me, I still miss my 944 i owned for 15 years.. but maybe a boxster or even better a cayman would do what i want. I have driven and shopped for an older 911 a bunch and I fit great. The cayman.. well i need to sit in a few and see if the early ones would hold me without making a noise like if you fill a Subaru with cinder blocks.
I am now trying to learn about Cayman 's and see if some day we are meant for each other.
