Default Sound deadening advice

In a 2011 Cayman S, I find the road noise slightly higher than optimal and have decided to use sound-deadening for the trunk and rear quarter panels as a first attempt to tame the tire noise (better tires will follow one day but not soon). Would anyone care to offer advice on this - the product selected is MesaMat (knock-off of dynamat) and I plan to use CarTunes in ATL in case there are further comments on these selections and the decision not to do door panels and floor just yet. Also, plan to install back-up cam and possibly new radio at same time and retain the current PCM system for potential collectors later.

No comment but I'm interested in your results. I've considered doing the same but never pulled the trigger.
