Default Ditched the CDR24 for a modern radio

I upgraded the radio in my 2008 Cayman (Non-Bose) to a Sony XAV-AX5000. This was my first car modification project ever and I am very happy with the result. I think the grey finish and no obnoxiously colored LEDs give this a really clean and stock look. It makes the 11 year old car look brand new!

Thanks! It wasn't that hard and I found this video to cover 95% of what I needed to know:
the hardest part was getting the wiring harness all hooked up and soldered together.

While a small detail, the Sony unit seems to be trimmed in silver rather than the usual black. As a result, it blends well into the trim kit. Also, the trim kit matches the car's OE parts. The entire thing looks very nice.

I went with Pioneer AVIV 8200 last year. I set it to slightly tilt upward when turned on. It goes back flush when powered down. Apple Carplay and numerous other bells and whistles. Builtin crossover adjustments for front, rear, and sub speakers.

Pioneer AVIC 8200 With Porsche Splash Screen added

Apple Carplay song playing.

Rearview camera engaged.
