Default Been looking at 997's and now found this...

I've been looking for my first P-car and have always wanted a 911. I work with someone that loves her Cayman. I've been studying up on all of the models of 911's and then stumbled upon this ad for a base Cayman.

Only 4K miles and within my budget. This is before Porsche switched to H4 engines.

Anyone have any experience with these Cayman's? Pluses and minuses?

I would recommend driving one and then a 911.

You will forget about a 911.

If that is your budget you can get just about anything you want in a 981 and a CPO.

The 981 cayman is one of the all time great cars, really. Know that you c an get a mint base 981 for about that price or get a ‘14/‘15 S with ~30/40k mikes for the same $.
Excluding the GT cars imo 981>991 for fun factor.
981 vs 997.2 S/GTS/GT3 is a tougher one for me.

My previous Porsche was a 996 Turbo and I absolutely loved that car. Sold it when we moved. My 15' Cayman S is so much better. Sure the turbo was crazy fast as it was chipped but the Cayman handles so much better. Drive some canyons in the 911 and then the Cayman and then decide. Depends on your driving style. For me it is Cayman all the way.
