Default What changed in 2008?

I was just pulling minor and major service schedules for a 2008 987 that I'm thinking about purchasing and I noticed that the service schedule for the 2008 is significantly different than for the 2005-07. For example, spark plugs are at 36K instead of 60K, the first minor is at 12K instead of 20K, drive belt is 35K instead of 40K. Any idea why?

Here are the two schedules:

As far as I could tell, there were no changes in the cars between '07 and '08. Rumor has it that the real reason the service interval changed is that the dealers were complaining the long service interval didn't allow them to make enough money.
