High milage 987.2 vs low mileage 987.1
Yeah, I know the basic differences between the two generations, but the question is, for the same money would you buy a 987.2 with 100k miles vs 987.1 with under 50k miles?

There could be a significant difference in wear and overall condition between a 100K mile car and a sub 50K mile car, but I would still tend to go for the car with proven maintenance and other signs of careful ownership first and foremost.

You should be driving a Honda Civic or Ford.....
The 987.1 and 987.2 body styles are different. They are 2 different cars all together. If there is no passion in your soul for either one, then you are just another mall cruiser in a Honda....

Brian, maybe you are thinking about the difference between a 986 and a 987?
The main difference between 987.1 and 987.2 is the engine(s) and Tiptronic/PDK transmissions. There are a number of small changes throughout the car that effectively makes the 987.2 smoother, more quiet, more refined. But we’re talking about small changes here.

Many people feel the PDK is a huge improvement over the Tiptronic while others prefer the Tiptronic's softer shift.
To many, the body style changes are minimal, but they are enough to have their own followers. If a person can't see the differences, they aren't Porsche people.
Personally, I much prefer the 987.1 body.
My main point is if someone is asking on a Porsche forum, "Which car should I buy?" They should be buying a Honda.
