Default Slow Starting Sometimes

Re: '06 Cayman S, Launch Edition; 74,000mi

Getting ready for an 80k service and began to experience a few slow starts while out running errands.
Have read that the source could be plugs/coils/wires or a fuel pump issue...?
The battery is 1.5 yrs old, the coils and wires are original and plugs were changed out at 43k miles about 5 yrs ago...

Wondering if there's any way to determine or help sort out the source of this problem...?

Thx, CF

I would consider battery (and or charging system first) despite the battery being relatively new but that’s enirely non-cayman specific.

Is your car a DD? Do you use a trickle charger if not?

-- Daily driver thus no charger. Battery replaced (OEM > Interstate) 10.22.16 @ 62.3k miles...

Certainly time for coils I would think. Also getting close to O2 sensor time...

Hi, new member here. You may want to have someone test that battery to see how much wear it has.

Are you experiencing hard starting or the engine turning over slowly?

When I picked up my '07 it seemed a bit slow to turn over, but otherwise would start fine. Then the pinion gear began to stick so I picked up a rebuilt starter from O'Reilly's. Turned out to be an OE Bosh and it was quite surprising how much faster the new starter turned the engine over. Spins over at least 2x faster now.

Wasn't that expensive for the rebuilt starter, and not too difficult to change out. Car came with an almost new AGM battery installed.
