Anglesey - 964 v Cayman R
I've been a long time owner of a 964 (and poster on that forum here), but recently acquired a Cayman R and thought it would be interesting to compare their on track performance.

The R should blow the 964 away. But we have no idea if they have been modified, who’s driving, skill level, etc., etc. My 964 C4 was a dog compared to the modern variants I’ve owned, including my 987.2 CS.

Cayman R I've owned for less than a month and this was only the second time I'd taken it on track. It is pretty much as per factory save for RS brake master cylinder upgrade. Standard Porsche pads and Michelin PS2 tyres.

Yes, there's so much more potential in the R, I've gone as far as I want/can (justifiably) afford with the 964. With similarly sticky tyres and better pads the 964 wouldn't see which way the R goes!
As it happens, and I forgot to mention, the Michelin's on the rear of the R were down past the wear indicators, so grip was going away.
As I alluded to, I've been tracking the 964 for over 10 years and only had the R for a month.....and the Anglesey track I used for a comparison is a short track where it took most of a day to get down to that time in the 964, but only a handful of laps in the R.

Congrats on the R.
I owned a Peridot R and it’s the only car I’ve regretted selling. I think of it often.
it was my “Goldilocks “ car (not too big, not too small...)
Luv the GT4 too but there was something really special about the R.

I think the previous owner of my R, who has also moved onto a GT4, feels the same as your sentiment! His loss = my gain!
