And then you have the 718 forum. I'm not even sure why they combined the 987 and 981 into one place, but am I missing what this forum is for in the scheme of things?

It’s been discussed before. Not sure why the forums are organized the way they are.

Thanks I just voted. Seems like an odd carryover from many years ago when perhaps there were separate Boxster and Cayman forums. Doesn't make a lot of sense.

I've said it before...If you want this forum to die, quit frequenting it. Go out and close all the threads you started on this forum and don't post any additional comments and it will quickly shrivel up and die. It's almost dead anyway. There are only 12-14 threads active with June 2018 dates. That's a day's work on other forums (and half a days work on the 993 forum). Two of those June date threads are advertisers' threads and two more are threads bitching about this forum. That leaves only 8-10 real technical threads. If you quit poking at it with a stick, it will die.

There are differing opinions I know, but I don’t want it to die and so I frequent it and comment in it as appropriate.
I guess I don’t find level of activity to be the only measure of a sub-forum’s desirability.
There are other sub-forums on Rennlist that have even less activity than this one, and I don’t want them to die or be rolled up into another forum either.

I think lots of folks dont know what a 981, 987.2, 718 etc. are. If they want to combine fine but they should add some info to the forum name so people who dont live and breathe everything Porsche will know where to go for their particular car or interest. I live and breathe this stuff but I am sure its confusing for lots of more casual users.

Here are my thoughts that was posted on the "other" Cayman forum.

Here is a refined suggestion for future thought:

Boxster/Cayman Forum
- 986 (Boxster)
- 987
- 981
- 982 (718)
- GT4

My suggestion... eliminate all the wordiness. Simple is best.

As Pauly told Johnny about the Ginnny Sac joke...Let it die a death

Agreed. Model segregation needs to be implemented.

Then why did my FS post in the 981 forum get moved here? This subforum is a ghost town compared to the 981 section.
