Review:SOUL 987.2 Exhaust
This review is long overdue but I wanted to share my experience with SOUL Performance Products. Earlier this year I got back in a Cayman, a 987.2 base this time around. While I loved the car it was notably quieter than I prefer for a sports car, especially coming from my 981. My attention turned to exhaust systems and I quickly learned that there were not many options out there for the 987.2. I concluded that the Carnewal GT modded system would be too quiet for my 987.2 and I steered clear from the bargain basement jobs on eBay. The few remaining options were either back ordered and/or had a long lead time. Through the forum I came across SOUL and their line of products. The reviews I read were stellar with the quality being heralded as first rate.
I contacted SOUL and began discussing options with Mike, their Marketing man. He was courteous, responsive, knowledge and we landed on their 987.2 valved system. I quickly received my package in the mail and the first giveaway to the quality of the products was in the packaging. Each component was efficiently and thoughtfully packaged with form fitting foam separating and protecting each part. Once removed the quality was really something to behold. Folks have mentioned the satin finish that is applied to each part and, I can say, it is awesome.
Having dealt with rusted on exhaust flange bolts in the past I opted to have my local shop install the system so I can’t speak first hand to the ease of install but my shop had no complaints about fitment whatsoever. I also opted to not hook up the valve system just yet as I a lean more towards a raucous sound for my ‘fun” cars.
Ok, the sound. The sound is great in “open” mode which is the default setting when the valves are left unconnected. It has a nasty, dirty (in a good way) familiar Porsche flat 6 idle and it rips to redline. Very exotic sounding. Drone is minimal, even in open mode, if driven accordingly. Of course it would be eliminated even more in “closed” valve mode but I can’t speak, first hand, to that.
All in all I was very impressed with the personnel and products from SOUL and would certainly buy from them again in the future. Special shout out to Mike @ SOUL who walked me through the entire process and answered my many questions.

Thanks for posting up your experience. I keep seeing nothing but positive reviews for them. When I'm ready to do a cat back on my 987.1, I will be giving them a call.
From what I see and hear, drone isn't really an issue with their systems which is a major plus in my book.
