Default Why is this forum so dead?

This place is a ghost town.. 993 forum has a page or two per day of topics... Where are all the Cayman owners?

Different car, different crowd, and a really different attitude. That said, I doubt there's another forum anywhere that matches the 993 forum in terms of activity and community. I was on there every day for over 11 years and that place was rockin' and rollin' all the time. I still drop in once or twice a week to see what they're up to and there's always something entertaining going on. Plus, with the 993, you can take a wrench to most anything that goes wrong with it. The Cayman? Not so much.

Agree 100%... I guess I blindly assumed all forums we're as active and vibrant as 993. I really felt like I was at home with friends there... My timeline was about the same.. everyday since 2006.

As far as taking a wrench to it, I have disassembled every single nut and bolt on the Cayman. I really like the updated engineering and it's a better design, even if it's made "more efficiently". But still very serviceable.

Perhaps because 993s were made and bought in higher quantities per year than Caymans. In other words, there are more 993 owners than Cayman owners....
Also I’ve noticed that many Cayman questions and discussions are held on the 987-981 Forum.

Also, people tend to post in the 987/981 forum. This has always been a weird duplicate forum.

They also tend to use the mainly British Planet 9 which for whatever reason is a strong Cayman group, but none of the other models.

I think a separate 987 forum should be created and this one deleted. 987/981/718 all separate. BTW I also like working on the Cayman.

exactly, which is why I suggested the forums be merged a month or so ago. The Cayman and Boxter are the same car, you don’t see a separate forum for the various 911 cabrios!

Exactly my thought. There is a 986 forum, a 987/981 forum, and a new 718 forum. Why does there also need to be a Cayman/Cayman S forum?

If merging the forums is our concensus then how do we communicate this to forum management?

If they read their own forums, you already have....

And I agree, too many similar forums that dilute content.

A while back I posted a poll on this in an attempt to influence the forum moderators, you might want to vote and post your comments HERE. The moderators can't possibly read every post in every thread on Rennlist.

993's are old and they crumble a lot more. cayman's are bulletproof for the most part and people are too busy driving them to be posting on a forum....

I never understood why there is a Cayman forum, specially when the GT4 sub forum is under the 987/981

If everyone really wants this particular forum to die, then close all of the threads you've initiated and don't post any further threads. Over time, it will die a natural death.
