New guy with a 987.1 Cayman S

Wow, that's actually good info. Whenever it happens on my Volvo, I just swap the low beam bulb, and it survives for about two years.
Perhaps I should try to clean the contacts first.
I'll be aware if it happens on my Cayman.

You'll love the car. I've had my 2012 Cayman S for more than three years and still look forward to every drive. This car is a keeper! I will likely never sell it and probably pass it down to my son when he's old enough to appreciate it.

Thanks. I imagine I'll keep this one as my wife likes driving it too. I had originally thought about getting another Cayman S, probably a GT4....but, i'm seeing GT3's with a lot better pricing then I thought. And really not that much more then a GT4.

Nice looking vehicle (I have a white one as well)! As far as the GT3 prices, I’m NO expert but I have to imagine their resale values have been affected by the recall(s). I’m not knocking (actually would love to have one) and Porsche has responded with a super long warranty but do a search on “GT3 engine problems” to read up on it (if you haven’t done so already)...good luck!

The 997 series GT3 was the last of an "proven" engine series and would be your best bet here. The beginning of the 991 series, if I recall, were the ones with the engine issues. This will be reflected in the price range based on the year you choose. Good Luck!!

I agree Rick-A-Shay, however I've limited my options to the 991 as I want one with PDK and I don't think the 997's offered GT3 w/PDK.
