Default Anyone install sequential shift lights?

I am trying to install sequential shift lights and would like information as to where to tap the wiring for the RPM signal.

What type of shift light kit are you using? I can do some more digging but I'm pretty sure you're going to need a can/kline/obd to tach adapter. Something like this Dakota obd tach adapter.

It's a 10 light sequential, model A-10 from Europe, 3 wire hookup (12v, ground and RPM).

i have been searching the web for days and found write ups on other models, 996 could use pin 9 on the OBD, it doesn't work on the Cayman. Tried all yellow wires on the instrument cluster, and green wires on the DME, all to no avail.

now, I'm wondering if it's not compatible or broken!

I installed a CAN tap in my Cayman R (2012), and decoded a lot of PIDs including RPM. Let me know if you need any of the information - for at least the 987.2, I think the dash is fed by a CAN bus.

987.1 is the same. There's no dedicated wire for a tach input on the dash you'll need to convert from can.

No affiliation, but this is a cool solution: Autosport Labs sequential shift lights

Thanks all!

Tapped directly at the ECU, top harness #6 green/blue wire. Works fine, just a little extra wire run from the back to the dash.

Not properly working off of the ECU, Going with a can-bus converter!

Could you tell me what converter you went with?

I have not done anything yet. At some point, I will hook up to one of the ignition coils in order to get the rev pulse signal.
