I recently purchased an 06 Cayman S and from my research I would say you got a good deal on a higher mileage Cayman S. Looks like it is in great shape. Have fun with it.

Great job with the pickup.
Please drive it the way Caymans were built to be driven.
Good luck and well wishes for the new to you car. Great job. Enjoy it.....

Love the color! Congrats! Nice price and it’s good for another 100k miles if you take care of it.

Thanks to all for the positive comments, was half expecting some negativity due to the mileage. My last Porsche ('02 turbo cab) had IMS failure at 8,500 miles and a year out of warranty. The 16k repair bill soured me on the Porsche brand for many years but now I'm back!! Looking forward to DE and autocross events in the near future.

I thought an 02 Turbo would not have had the potential for the IMS failure as it had the Metzger motor not the M96??

Not only that -- but only $16k to repair a 2002 Turbo motor? Damn!! Repair facilities must be cheap out there -- I had estimate of just over 10k just to have the turbos replaced on my 2001 Turbo from a dealer, of course.

Good luck with the Cayman!

Correction on the year for the turbo cab, it was an '04. Pretty sure it was IMS failure, here's what I remember. After the engine was removed and completely disassembled they found that only 1 of the 3 shaft connecting bolts were in place. Does the sound like IMS failure? just assumed it was. I sold the car a month or so after the repairs and bought a C6 complete with new car warranty..!! The work was done by McKenna Porsche in Norwalk, CA.

Yeah...no IMS on an 04 either (same motor). When the intermediate shaft bearing goes on an M96 you basically grenade your engine from the inside as the bearings disintegrate and spread like shrapnel through your engine. Nothing to do with the shaft connecting bolts.
