Default 2008 Cayman S - work on new purchase

I had a 2006 Cayman S in 2006, and I have been pining for it ever since. After a stint in club racing a 944 turbo, then 3 years in a street BRZ [great car!], I just got a 2008 Cayman S with 60K miles [bye-bye BRZ]. The PPI found 2 ignition coils with cracks.

So, I bought the car. Today, I pulled all 6 ignition coils, and they all had cracks. Not big, so not a big deal. I had bought 6 replacements from Suncoast parts, so they are going in. Almost done, and not a hard project. Also replacing spark plugs while I am there, and new ones were definitely needed. As always, the hardest part: getting wiring connectors off then back on!

Awesome car, but then, I knew that! Future projects? Deep sump, Motorsport AOS, 3rd radiator, underdrive pulley, shift kit, etc. Should keep me busy in the garage for months. This car may have a future as an SPC.

WenigRot - Thanks. Great user name - I study German on the side.

Somewhat obviously with YZ250 as a user name, I was doing motocross when I got the 2006 Cayman S. After a friend got very seriously injured at the track, I switched to racing, which is far far safer than motocross. People think of car racing as dangerous, but it has nothing on motocross.

I'm a new 06 Cayman S owner so no expert. My car had the 40k service before purchased it, and part of that service included plugs. Sounds like previous owner may have skipped that step. Fortunately, the service on my car also included coils as well. Have not checked to see if they are the newer, reinforced type.

Sounds like a fun project.
