2008 CAYMAN --- 43K miles for $24K
Like to get your opinion on the price. I've been looking and found a few that is similar in price and / or is less but it's across the country. I would still have to pay for shipping.
Also, like to know if anyone has a trusted shop in Sherman Oaks, CA area? I am in San Diego but the vehicle is north so I plan to use a shop up there.
I appreciate your response in advance on the price and PPI shop recommendations.

On the surface, this could be a bargain price.....however, depends on condition, options, service history, etc. If all is within reason, I would think 27-28k would be more typical.

Here's the build sheet for the '08 in case you don't have it. Tiptronic makes it a little less expensive, plus lightly optioned. Still would need more info for a good purchase decision.
Nice color and wheels. If the car looks and drives good and passes a PPI, it looks like a potential winner.

Maybe I have a higher view of the market, but this one seems too cheap. Inquire carefully. Could be a winner. Sure looks nice. At 49k miles, still low mileage.
Good luck.

Bill-
Thank you. I'm partial to the 2010. It's from an online company that gives your 3 days guarantee. Not sure what that really means, having never used e-car purchase before. I was going to take it to my local shop for PPI once it gets here, if I decide to move forward. Still doing research on the vehicle. If anyone has experience with e-car purchased, where the car gets delivered to you and you have a few days to decide, pls let me know. Thank you again for the build sheet that was great and useful.
The 2008 is at a local dealer and I would be able to take it and get a PPI first. As I was negotiating for the 2008, the dealer had the following vehicle he wanted me to consider. Any chance I can get your opinion and build sheet? They have higher milage than the current 2008 with triptronic. Is a manual more in price than auto?

Lastly, if I'm not pushing my luck for your advice and time. Could you give me your thoughts on these two?

Here's the link I'm using for build sheets:

I'm no expert by any means. At age 70 I just bought my first Porsche, an '06 PASM, chrono equipped Cayman S manual. So I've been doing a lot of research and asking a few questions on this forum. I don't know the policies of the dealer for the 2008, but you should be about to get a PPI done remotely before paying for the car to be shipped. Local specialty shops are accustomed to this. That would give you a fairly high confidence level if that's the car you want. They would assess cosmetic as well as mechanical condition.
As to relative values, it is my perception that Tiptronics tend to be less expensive that manuals. However the PDK transmissions in the 2009+ are generally priced equivalent to the manuals since they are a big improvement.
I got a good car I think (42000 miles with good service records and 5,000 mile oil changes and a recent 40,000 mile service) but did pay a premium for it (about $31,000 including new tires I put on it). In retrospect, I might have considered a newer car, but I wanted an S, so the costs got a bit higher. Good luck with your search.
