Have to imagine that the dyno results now that you have the plenum, headers, & exhaust upgrade installed would help drive these sales/group buy?....👍🏽😀 What was left was OTS 1 (with upgrades), OTS 2 (with upgrades, obviously), and custom - correct? Eagerly waiting!

Well Soul wanted to get some more traction in the 981 community, so helping support them. A great deal on a high quality system that sounds great!

The Stage 2 map feels a lot better than the Stage 1 map with the hardware upgrades. I've been busy so haven't had time to wire up the valves yet (just have played with them manually). Hoping to get some video together in the next few days and then on to the custom calibration. Hopefully, we'll get to the dyno in the next 2 weeks to see what type of gains we have picked up. The car feels a lot better now, even in the mid range, just has more juice!

With the exhaust (headers and cat-back), I personally really like the tone of the system with the valves closed. Nice blend of sound and refinement. With them open, a cup car! Sort of cool that it gives you a quality aftermarket sound with the valves closed and when you want to just because, you can, sound like you belong in the 24 Hours of Le Mans!

Thanks, Jon! Been a treat following this build so far and we look forward to your impression/videos after you get those valves wired up

Not yet, might be another week or so until I can get this to the dyno. Sorry, we've been slammed. Also testing some things for the Panamera Turbo build.

I am NOT getting a CEL so if I hadn't used the Cobb AP to read the ECU I wouldn't have even known about it (tried clearing it several times, comes back each time). The error has to do with the expected threshold of the TB (which makes sense) - I was NOT getting this with headers JUST after I added plenum/TB. Any insight is appreciated, thanks! -Dom EDIT - forgot to add, car runs GREAT, so ECU is really just a curiosity)
There's a process for the 981 to learn the TB, you might need to use a PIWIS (factory tool) for it to work. Do you have the S? We didn't have that issue on the base. I know others just drove around for some time and it went away. Sounds like the ECU hasn't adapted to the TB (I assume GT3 TB?).

Thanks for these, they are definitely interesting! Just curious, what gear are you doing the dyno pulls in? I was always told to do them in the closest gear ratio of to 1:1 but in the Cayman base that would be 5th & that seems high?? Thank you again!

It just depends on the speed of the dyno. I believe we did a 4th gear pull but will go back and look. 5th seems high for most dynos. We're going back this Thursday for some new numbers with the mods.

We'll get a video up soon but thought I'd share a dyno pull. This is where we are at with the Cobb OTS Stage 2 map. We're hoping to pick up 8 or so whp at the top end with some custom tuning. Not bad gains as power is made throughout the entire rev range. We were hoping for about 10 more whp of a gain up top with all the mods but it could be tuning related as the Cobb OTS map isn't calibrated to work with the GT3 TB/IPD Plenum. Remember this is a 2.7L so bolt ons are showing progress but Porsche did fairly well getting power out from the factory.

Thanks for these numbers, it's pretty impressive! One question, I thought a selling point of the plenum that it shouldn't need a calibration to get it's gains? From their web site FAQ:

".........
The factory ECU/DME will make all the necessary "adaptive changes" to accommodate the additional air flow provided by the IPD Plenum. A mass air system constantly adapts for changes in the inlet tract. Only in very high power turbo systems are the limits of the stock mass air meter exceeded and provisions need to be made, but short of that the plenum will not cause any calibration issues."

Definitely a huge fan of this thread (and all the changes that you have done) just want to make sure I understand what the plenum will/wont do 'on it's own' or by 'learning' over time as opposed to what it needs a calibration to unlock. Thanks again for your insight and great information in this thread!
