I have a 2006 Cayenne S with PCM 2.1, Bose audio system. Everything works except the navigation system. When I try the Navi button or Maps I get the display which says "Navigation System is being started." That's as far is it gets. The DVD player under the passenger seat has power, lights up, will eject or load the DVD (2005) and the disc is not flipped over. No navigation and no map. Any suggestions?

Push 1-4-8 and hold. PCM will reset.

I have also had discs go "bad", not really the disc but the drives as they age seem to have trouble reading discs.

For whatever reason, I was able to make a backup, and my backup worked fine, and the original did not anymore, even though I could back it up in my PC.
