Yes - you can. You can install the software on as many devices as you want. The dongle is what gets registered and your software selections are keyed to the dongle not to the device the software is running on.

As far as what works with it tablet-wise.. I have a Verizon tablet (Elipsis) that works with it, but I can't say I'd recommend it.

On the level control (air suspension) calibration, this is the error that keeps coming up on my ICarScan unit. FWIW, I don't think that calling the dealer with these codes is an option....
Unless of course Launch wants these codes for product development and improvement? Their use of the English language is not exactly in sync with our version...

Maybe this is where the programmer lives?

I see some have the "special functions" available under Level Control. I do not. Any idea how to get there? Somehow the rear of my GTS thinks it is a lot lower than it is and needs to be re calibrated.

Just wanted to throw up another experience. 2006 Cayenne S in stunning Pure Red (fastest possible). Bought the LAUNCH X431 iCarScan per the original post, downloaded the EZDiag software from the Google Play library on to my Moto 4G+ running Android 7.

Seems to work just dandy. Cleared my air bag error, found a couple of unannounced faults which were no big deal and also easily cleared. Happy car and car owner. Thanks for the post!

BigTex,

Was it just the X431R or the Cresetter?

Kino - there is very confusing naming being done on several Launch based diagnostics tools. If you want the iCarScan - Google exactly that. It may or may return with X431R as part of the name.

There appear to be a multitude of different devices that use X431R in the descriptions - some are also including "Cresetter". Most of them are stand alone devices with buttons and a display. They often do not have the full functionality of the iCarScan, they're typically limited to resetting service warnings.

The iCarScan isn't made by Launch. It is made by another company who licenses the software from Launch.

Different beasties. The iCarScan does include all the service reminder resets.

Same one I got, but paid more on Amazon. I was a little Leary about ordering something from Hong Kong and having to return it.

Incidentally, mine worked fine.

Same people I ordered from - where I was shocked when it arrived on my doorstep 2 days later, in a package that originated in China (according to the postage on it..) How'd they do that? It was less than 48 hours from when I ordered it..

I ordered mine from alienexpress and it arrived in 72hrs as well.

I ordered a motorcycle exhaust for $45ish off alienexpress one sunday afternoon (which made it early monday morning in China) and it arrived on tuesday afternoon via DHL. That's faster than me finding the time to drive down to a bike shop and pick it up in person.

Spoke too soon for complete happiness. System can't connect to the Instrument Cluster module. Bummer. Sent a diagnostic to the maker, hope they have an answer.

Follow-up: I reread this thread and saw the comments about some items working with the engine off or on, so I retried it and sure enough, with the ignition on but the engine off, it worked!

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to have the ability to access the seat belt chime, unless someone else has found it?

I have been unable to get EZdiag to Allow me to purchase the Porsche capability for $49.95. I get the message that the account has been logged in from another device. SW version V22.22 on Kyocera Android. I thought it was pretty slimy that you have to pay for Porsche capability.
They have sent an update but no joy. Disappointed.

I've had quite a few false negatives. It said there were multiple codes on my 2014 Cayennes diesle and 97 M3 but neither had CEL. I had dealer check it out during visit for broken dash clock and they confirmed it was clean.

The only thing I have confirmed to be 100% is resetting oil and service intervals.

Default IOS and....

Recieved mine a few days ago...downloaded the two software apps via my IPhone 6S. No problems whatsoever. Did my oil change today and reset the oil change maintenance interval..

One question...Does anyone know if there's a calibration (and where in the software) for the passenger outside mirror? It's supposed to lower when I put the car in reverse, but doesn't do that...

Havin a hard time finding it in the options.

Thanks again.

Tony
