I'll be the 2nd dissenter. I am looking for a 958 so I appreciate what the goal is. But I don't think there is enough overall postings on here to warrant it. The reason I choose Rennlist over 6speed was that I hate 6speed division of stuff. It's a pain to parse through 3 forums hoping to find something enjoyable to read.
Plus, just because it's a thread about an earlier model, it doesn't mean the information can't be fun to read or even helpful (like a discussion about a mod that works great).
I guess the die has been cast but...taken from someone who is only looking at 958's, I think it' a mistake to break up and divide the crowd. You'll just end up with 2 forums with less traffic than what one larger forum could obtain.

HOLY COW! Thanks much!
g8tor20 - I do find the excessive segmentation on 6-speed a bit annoying also - but that isn't what we're talking about here. As you learn more about the different "series" of Cayennes - you'll realize that while some commonalities exist - way more differences exist. The problem this really addresses is the disappearing 958 posts - since 955/957 Cayennes are well into the DIY ownership realm - there are more, way more posts about them, meaning the 958 posts roll off the bottom of your screen pretty rapidly. That will hopefully change for the better.
Thanks much to the moderators! If you need help moving stuff around (I know what a PITA job that can be - BTDT on two other forums now..) give me a yell. Even though I'm retired and don't have the time at work to play on forums - I can probably give a hand. I'm real familiar with VBulletin moderation mode..

Great!
Maybe too soon, can we get a 955 and a separate 957 sub forum too?
Like the watercooled early porsches, one for all the 924/944/968 but subs for the specific models?

This will require some action on the part of the moderators - moving things as necessary..

Just have the 955/957 together; 958 and future models separate. DI motor, within 955 and 957, still have same basic issues as the non DI motor with plugs and coils as an example. Participants can always let posters the difference if DI vs non DI motors within that subforum.

I think a generic Cayenne subform complicates it unnecessarily.

Cayenne - MAIN FORUM
- 955/957 SUBFORUM
- 958 SUBFORUM
- Future model (renamed when it arrives) SUBFORUM
General Cayenne stuff - brags, discussions in the upper level forum. Model specific stuff in the model specific subforums. Really rather easy.

Suggest adding model years for clarification 955('04-06)/957('07 and '09)/958('11+) etc
