PCM 3.0 Firmware v2.24 available? What version do you have on the 2009 and 2010 PCM?
So last few year, there have been a few minor bugs in my PCM, that while they were annoying, were not show stoppers.
Over the years I asked the dealer, can they do a firmware update, and they would say no, you need to order the latest navigation update, dial home to Porsche, can't be update via disc on the head unit (why do so many dealers lie rather than say the are not sure how it can be done)
So I finally tracked down what I thought was a v2.24 firmware disc, blew some dust cleaner in the PCM slot and crossed my fingers.
I had v1.40 on my PCM 3.0
Now I hav v1.47. Better I guess, but looking for the last firmware, if it is available for the last of the 957s. From what I can see, 911, Cayman or Cayenne PCM 3.0 all take the same disc.
Can other with later maps like 2012 ones check what there version is?
Press Options, Settings, Display, Version I think. I would like to know if it is worth pursuing a v2.24 disc.

I would love to do this too. I don't even have navigation in my 09 Turbo S so I just need the PCM software. I had searched and seen it was not able to be done over DVD either and only the Dealer PIWIS. Good to know thats not the case.

This does multiple modules from what I can see. Bluetooth, Amps, PCM itself.

So I decided to be brave and see what happens when I insert the v2.20 firmware disc, and it answered the question for me!
Obviously I hit no, as I don't have the current maps and license key

I just ordered the firmware disc. From what I've read.. you can update it. but then you need to take it to dealer for the licence.. one thing I am not clear on.. is if the firmware disc also includes the maps.. the description in this says maps and it upgrades OS to latest version available.. https://www.suncoastparts.com/product/997PCM30.html

Mine did not come with the map disc(but I have them), and I am having trouble finding a dealer willing to do the license coding for less than 2 hours charge....

How much is the 2 hours charge if you don't mind me asking? Here in Singapore, they charge an arm and a leg, so wondering how it's like in New England?

I forget how, either way a firmware update past 1.x requires a license to be installed in the PCM, then you can do the map update. The map updated looks for the license to be coded in the PCM.

Question about PCM update
Hello,
i have a question, so I have Cayenne S 2009, software version is 1.40. When I press the phone button, I get a message “Phone functionality is not available”. Also when I press the phone buttons on the steering wheel, it gives me a message “Phone is not activated”
will version 1.47 open the phone and Bluetooth?
also, will this allow me to update the maps without a dealer?
Best,
erKarim

Been a long time since I have thought about firmware and options. If I recall, there are two profiles for the phone, one is for Bluetooth the other is to use the sim card in the head unit but you can't use both at once. They only way I remember is to have the dealer code either mode.
This is my memory from about 5 years ago so take it for what it is worth...

I see a SIM card slot, but I guess it is there for all modules. I don't want to use a SIM, I want to use it with my cell phone. Still couldn't figure that out. So, I still need to do it through a dealer?
