What is considered a high mileage cayenne

What year?

"High" is relative.

I have 117k on my 05.
Others have similar numbers.

Some have near 200k. I'd call that "high".

If you are considering purchase, I would consider condition and maintenance records more important than miles.

Depends on what the vehicle has been doing during its lifetime so far. If it was used for towing a 7000 pound boat or trailer a lot and the owner has a heavy foot and drove off-road with any frequency, 75,000 miles could be high mileage. If it was used mostly by a single person driving mostly highway miles, 180,000 miles could be "high mileage".

I have 190,000 now. Feels like a new car since I replace the rubber bits that wear in the suspension. No concerns with the engine.

I recently bought a meticulously cared for and maintained 2009 GTS with 106k miles and I would not consider it high mileage. I might another but not this one. Ask me again in 18 months

210K on my 955 TT. Looks and drives great, the only parts that look worn are where my gracious fellow new yorkers keyed my car, to send a message that "citidiots" aren't welcome on the trails. If they only knew I grew up in the woods..

Currently living in the Northwest, have considered moving near Beacon or other location near Metro North. Did not realize there were many off-road opportunities thinking most land is in private hands.

I’ve got a little over 120k on the same ‘17 CS with the turbo V6. Feels great.

I’ve had to replace the sheared off aluminum valve cover bolts to fix a small oil leak, replaced the heater control valve causing no heat in the cabin, recently replaced the plastic coolant vent line that cracks and leaks coolant, and had issues with the sunroof drains flooding (auto car wash is too much for it to avoid leaking water right on top of the Bose amp, even when the drains are clear). The motor and (steel spring) suspension have been good though.

I have a 2005S with 209000 miles. I have only done basic maintenance, starter, alternator, brakes, Jimmy fix, motor mounts, door latches, etc

My 2008 Base Cayenne hit 400,000 km and it still runs great.

My recent projects included - 4 wheel bearings replacement, front upper control arms (L & R), Shock/Spring assemblies (Front &Rear), Front and Rear rotors and pads, and water pump. I proactively replaced the 2 fuel pumps when I replaced the fuel filter about a couple of months ago. I still have the front lower control arms to replace .. waiting for warmer weather.

I tackled these project myself with the exception of wheel bearings which I can't undertake as I read the horror tales of folks who tried it. My mechanic told me the challenges he faced removing them ... requiring lots hammering and heat..

The question that stuck on my mind lately is how much longer should I keep the SUV? When people finds out the mileage I've put in my SUV, they would suggest I get rid of it and not put any more $$ into it. I would respond stating these are standard maintenance stuff ... wear and tear which all vehicle go through ... and that I still enjoy driving it.

Does anyone have any idea on how durable Cayenne engines are ... how many miles/kilometers before they need major work done ... rebuilt/replaced?

I think the condition of the bodywork is more important. The running gear is straightforward to repair or replace. When the body gets rusty is when the useful life is over.

My high milage CTT, It is like anything else maintain it keep it up and if the price is right and you like it- what the hell. There are a few things to consider: was the water pipes under intake- fixed? Has the turbo wye pipe replaced and most importantly has the car had the "Faulty Steering" yet? If yes than all the real tough stuff has been done.

I don't know about that really. It depends how much you like the cayenne. My 2006 Turbo S (166,000) had rusted out rear rocker corners. The rest of the PIG is fine. I checked into Porsche factory parts, $9000 per side for the part before shipped to me. Had to buy the whole car side, no repair part available. I had a local body shop fabricate repair parts and install them. Had them do both side since they were at it. Only place there was rust. Appears this is where stuff gets trapped behind the fender liner and front splash guard for the rear wheel.



Good for a long time now.

High Milage relates to how the car has been maintained . My 2005 is flawlessly maintained and in ridiculous condition for 150,000km and has only seen a hand full of snow days in its whole life ! Drives better than suv's half its age.
