Default Looking to buy a Cayenne, any advice?

Hi everyone,

I'm looking to buy a Cayenne or Cayenne S...

my budget is between $20k-$30k.

1) For that money, what kind of car and mileage should I expect?

2) Any advice on what years to avoid or to look for?

3) Any "must have" options?

Thanks

I found an 06 Turbo with 55k miles, in excellent shape and all service records for under 30 a few months ago. Id stick with a Turbo or GTS.

I'm looking to get the latest year possible, can I get a GTS that's not too old for that money?

Looks like probably an 08-09 GTS would be easily findable for that price range. Found quite a number between 40k and 85k miles for under $30k.

You won't be able to get a 958 for 30k or less.

That being said, jump on a 2010 GTS. Cheaper to maintain also.

Just out of curiosity, are all 2010's cheaper to maintain or is it just limited to the GTS?

You can definitely find 958's for less than 30

I would probably get an early 958 (2011-12) V8 S. At your price, the mileage will probably be over 60k.

2011 S with 60-80k miles is probably what I would look for. everyone has different "must have" options.

^^That's not a bad idea. In fact, it's probably a better option than a 2010. The 2011's are so nice interior wise that you can give up a few ponies. I don't know if the S comes with air and PDCC but if it does, heck even if it doesn't, it's a good move.

Thanks,

Last question, when is the Cayenne due for a facelift? Or has Porsche already done this?

They did the facelift already (2014?) - it's due for a replacement/new-series in 2017 or so.

I couldn't agree more about going for a (958) 2011+. I had a 2006 S and upgraded to a 2011 S. The differences are night and day. Mine does have PSM and Air Suspension but, no PDCC. I would think that the next new Cayenne would come out in late 2017 or early 2018 as a 2018 model. The new 2017 Panamera is coming in December and Porsche wouldn't want to lose potential sales to the Cayenne. I would also think that the 2018 Cayenne interior will look a lot like the new Panamera interior just as the 2011 Cayenne interior was very similar to that of the 2010 Panamera.
