Bad knock sensor 04 S
Thought I'd share some odd info
Our 04 had been running a bit rough. Just not smooth. Like 10% off. No CEL. for about a month.
Put in some tecron. No change.
Finally a CEL came on P2177 and 2179 via my universal scanner. Both lean conditions.
I don't like throwing parts so took to dealer to diagnose. Betting it would be a fuel pump or MAF or air leak.
Nope. There was a stored code for bad knock sensor. Ugh, why did this not trip CEL? Also, my universal scanner of course would not pick up this code as it did not throw a CEL. I would have taken it in right away. Bad knock sensor leads to bad things in engines.
So, if your 955 feels not as smooth as it used to. Like the fuel is ever so slightly blocked, cutting. Get it scanned by PWIS.
All will be good. Just wanted to document.
