Drivers side, closest to driver's seat. Just fricken covered in thick oil. Is this normal? Where is the catch can for blow by on a 955 (05 cayenne turbo 104k miles)

That looks more like a valve cover gasket leaking. The tip is still dry and looks normal. I'm guessing it's leaking down into the hole. Was the coil covered in oil as well when you pulled it out?

You are right, leaking valve cover gasket. I've seen it on BMW, Audi etc. Good call.

Only a tiny bit of the tip on the coil pack tube. There is a repair bill that came with the car for valve cover gaskets being replaced 15k miles ago). I suppose they could have done a poor job tough

Same problem here. I had 3 plugs with a small amount of oil on them when I changed mine. All 3 electrodes looked like they were burning clean. The truck came with documentation showing that the valve cover gaskets were done 3k miles ago. Looks like the mechanic did not replace the seals around the plugs or did a poor job replacing them. Doesn't leak much and my oil consumption is fine so I'm just going to keep an eye on it for now. I guess it will continue to get worse. I'll fix it when I can't stand the burning oil smell any more.

So the VC gaskets were changed but not the plugs?
That plug looks like it has been in the engine for 100Kmi.

Here's a picture. The seal around the spark plugs is called the inner valve cover gasket.

OP, your exhaust will puff smoke after a warm start....with a steely-smelling odor. That is the sign oil is being electrified...
