Default To buy high mileage 2012 cayenne turbo?

Looking for opinions on if it would be wise to buy a 2012 1-owner cayenne turbo with ~82k. Porsche dealer is asking 49,000 for it, and it sounds like they would be willing to add certified warranty, even though it would expire in 18k miles.

Is this mileage too high? Anything to be aware of?

Thanks.

1-owner and high mileage is my preference. Does the car come with any maintenance history?

I'll see if the dealership has any maintenance records for it. From the carfax, it doesn't look like anything major has been done, but I'll definitely look into it.

Any big items that would be failing in the near future because of the mileage?

Seems like a lot of commuting miles were put on it since it's a 2012.

Hard to say since not many 958 Cayennes are in the 6 figure mileage range. The motor is solid, it's the same motor in the 957, which is basically the same motor in the 955 but with direct injection. Drivetrain seems solid.

I don't really foresee any big ticket items given that it's still fairly new (time wise). Ask the dealer what scheduled maintenance should be done (I think the 80K service would be due, or some other service around this mileage).

I fully expect well cared 958 Cayennes to outlast their owners, and go well into the 300K mileage range. They're well-built cars.

That's a great price. Paid a little more than that for a certified '12 S, but mileage was 47k. Very good deal IMHO.

Default Just got one of those, so far so good

That's a nice car you're considering

I'm new on this forum, since my Porsche experience is just starting now.
I got mine from a Porsche dealer too; higher price, but you (hopefully also in the US) get the warranties etc., that actually mean something.

A couple of points from my recent experience (from Europe):
Before buying it, I:
1) got the full service history from the dealer, as well as repair history
2) got a 24 month warranty plus 'assistance' with unlimited mileage. I can extend the warranty for up to 9 years for an annual fee of +/- 1000 euro/year (USD 1100). Can you get a similar deal over there?

I think these options should be offered by the dealer, if he is serious....

But, because I'm in Europe, prices are different. I paid 60000 euro (66000 dollars) for it, but the mileage was less though, 70000 km, i.e. 43400 miles.
I'll keep you posted on all breakdowns of the car, which Porsche will pay for😀
Good luck!
