Default Welcome/Problem

Hi,

I have been lurking for a while and recently finally made an account, I have an 03 Pig which has been actually besides consuming lots of premium gas has been trouble free besides the usual, coolant pipes, etc.

Anyways yesterday when washing my car the body panel/trim under the hatch window fell off it took quite a bit of damage and does not seem, to be able to securely stick anymore I noticed some of the plastic clips are broken anyways it's the only scratched thing on my vehicle and really irritates me I have like OCD and HAVE to replace it. It seems it just clips in, I've tried searching online and have been having lots of trouble and no luck finding it online is this a dealer only thing I have run into?

I have attached a photo of my pig as well. It was very well equipped and I have throughly enjoyed it.

Thanks!

Exactly which trim piece are you referring to?
Is it the plastic housing for the rear window microswitch?
A picture of the trim piece and/or rear of the P!g would be helpful.

Hmmn, OCD and owning an Alpha model P!g ... This can't end well.

Haha thanks for the encouraging words, like I said I have owned the vehicles for 4 years so far nothing major for myself (knock on wood) the original owner was also meticulous about the vehicle as well and always had it serviced at the best dealer here in Vancouver. Anyways I have attached a shot of the piece off the vehicle.

Also notice the great placement of half a prostate cancer advertisement above HA!

Does this fall into the self-ejecting trim category?

I can see why you want to get that fixed!

Looks like you need a "moulding complete, prime coated" in the PET catalogue.

Part number is 955 555 355 02 G2X

Price is US $154.18 from www.sonnenporscheoemparts.com

Does the part come with new clips?

And it looks like you also need to have it painted.

Not sure on the painted part yet I asked them when I ordered it but I haven't got a response yet (it was Sunday when I placed the order) but it is the entire assembly with new retaining clips the trim pice etc. The old piece still goes in and stays there while driving but is loose to the touch you wouldn't notice the scratches and damage unless you were looking but still would like to replace it. As for the ad next time I go to that detailing place I'll snap a full pic of it, I'm curious myself.

Just got the answer piece comes just primered so I will need to get it painted so sad! haha

I am in the same situation when this trim piece fell out when going through a touchless car wash and heavily scratched it. The new part comes primed and needs to be painted. Body shops want about $200 to paint the piece. Is a DIY possible with spray paint? Has anyone tried painting one of the primed trim pieces?

Thx much!

On the 957 (2007-2010), this trim piece is also available in natural polished high gloss black.

For pre-2007, it only comes primed. Found a shop that can paint the piece for $100. Still seems crazy high and wondering if getting a paint matched from NAPA in a spray can will work.
