Porsche changed the roof lining for Cayenne Turbo! :(
I have a 2004 Cayenne Turbo. The roof lining is fabric, the suede was not an option when I ordered the car. Today I saw a Cayenne Turbo 2004 at the dealer and my jaw dropped. It had a suede roof lining just like my 2001 911 Turbo! They told me that this is standard now!
I also discovered that the second battery is removed and there is space for a donut spare tire.
With these changes in the same model year (2004), Porsche sure knows how to upset current owners.

...so they should NEVER change or improve their vehicles except at model-year change? I certainly hope they continue to continuously improve their vehicles!

It's been posted here many times that the "spare battery" took the "spare tire" space - still leaving space for the Bose sub. Since many of the ROW deliveries have been Cayennes w/o 2nd batteries, it's not a big issue. Just have to find out what parts need to stay....

have you inquired....
...about having PCNA swap out the liners? Since you were one of the first to take the plunge, I would think that the request might not be unreasonable. At a minimum you might be able to negotiate the parts/labor.

one of my friends also told me that it's cool because I have a limited edition version of the Cayenne Turbo! That's a positive perspective I guess...

When did this change supposedly take place?
My March 04 production TT does not have suede. Good thing as I hate suede with a passion, kind of nails on a chalkboard thing.
So was there a straight answer on, if the secondary battery is there, can it just be removed and rewired?

My Cayenne TT has a born on date of June 3rd.Delivered to me on July 8th. It came with the Alcantara liner, a big surprise to both myself and the selling dealership. They told me that they had no prior notification on the change. I love the plush looks of the interior, black leather,Alum trim. The liner material seems to give the interior a more finished appearance. Incidentally they also deleted the 2nd battery.
