Advantages over the Dension and other cd changer replacements, other thn a backup camera? Those seem more "PnP" to me. I'd hate to tear apart the interior running wires and such. How much did you have to remove for your camera run and is the camera HD? Install looks easy though.

The camera has not arived yet but, the wire routing should not be to bad. I will have to take the interior panels off the back hatch to route it. I will update when I get it done.

I guess I want to know why this one rather than leaving in your stock head unit and simply replacing the cd changer....

I had the basic CDR-23 cd player. This gave me everything I did not have and 10x beter sound.

With no additional amp and stock drivers the sound is 10x better? Not sure I get how that happens. Not try to be adversarial but I want to add BT and iPod integration and by using the cd changer connection I can easily add the Dension Gateway 500S BT I'm pretty sure to my 04CTT.

However, I have an iphone5.

I have been installing car audio systems for over 15 years and in this case it is 10x better than what I had...even with the stock speakers and no amp. The Porsche Cayenne base speakers sound great with an excellent receiver. I know what high end speakers, amps and crossovers are capable of. I have had and installed many high-end systems over the years with components such as the US made PPI Art series amps (best sound quality amps ever made), MB Quart Q series, and Focal components speakers and I always use Audio-control processors (look the stuff up...I know what I am talking about). I do not need to waste the money on this install. It will be just as good the way it is. In this case, the reason the stock speakers sound the way they do...is due too good stock speaker placement, the sound density of the doors and the cabin set up in this vehicle. In the next few weeks after I finish this current set-up, I will add an Infinity Bass-link sub and the system will be finished.
The iPhone 5 will not work with this deck nor will it with any that I know of as of right now. Therefore, you should go a different route or wait...that we agree on. If I had your vehicle with the Bose system and a iphone 5, I would go a totally different route. You are going to have too. To add any additional audio to your system you will have to bypass the stock amp or use an expensive interface made for your vehicle. If you want to add to add Blue Tooth and iPhone integration to the stock set-up it is going to be expensive. The Dension Gateway 500S BT is over $500 and most of the other options are $600-1000. A top of the line head unit will do the same and a lot more for a lot less money (just bypass the stock amp and add an aftermarket one).

You have many options but again you need to research them because the Iphone 5 could be the game changer. I know nothing about the Iphone 5's compatibility yet.

"easiest/cleanest option for us Bose guys" Ipod and bluetooth;
Reasearch this set up. Good reviews under $200;

Thanks Duane I'm on the iPhone 4S for now at least until the spring..... Wife took the iPhone five. Dension Gateway 500 was what I had decided upon since my cd changer is dead. Wonder if the BT version is worth it.

Update: Finished up all the mounting and purchased the Pioneer CD-IU201V USB Interface Cable to play video from the iPhone through the reciever. This is a great deck. Just ordered the Infinity Basslink II for the lowend bass and will install it next week. I still have not had time to install the rearview camera due to work being so busy but that is also coming soon.

Finished up the rear view camera. Got to say that was no joke to install in the Cayenne. Works great though.

There is this route http://www.crazystereo.com/navtv-mos...55-p-3918.html
if you have a MOST bose system.
648$ just for this is a little expensive i think. Is there like no other kit that does same thing for less money? On the other hand it seems pretty plug and play. i really wonder if this contains everything as they say it does. Does not work with Pioneer for the steering wheel controls
