Sent my deposit in today!
I for one like the Cayenne. I have a winter suv anyway, so it might as well be a Porsche. 450 hp ain't all bad you know. I also sent in a deposit for a Carrera GT do you all think that car will ruin Porsche too???
I like the things Porsche is doing to stay independent and profitable.
Just my humble opinion of course!

Putting your money alongside your opinion is way to go BuddyG.
I also have a deposit on Cayenne TT. For the Carrera GT - it is out of my budget for now. When I can realistically afford one, I will put my money where my big mouth is!
Others moaning and bitching only do so perhaps because as they say – “can’t afford one so might as well slate it”.
Cayenne looks superb in pictures – bet it looks even more gorgeous in real life. We all know about Porsche engineering so there is no need to scrutinise that in any case – bound to be reliable, go like a rocket, handle like a proper car and still be around in 10years from now with better than the competition in terms of residual value. Now that is what I call success.

Buddy,
Quite a formidable laundry list of vehicles...! Most of my prospective auto purchases never get past the first screening - wife, sigh!... but she probably knows best anyway.
I'm not a close follower of the Cayenne developments but frankly I'm quite surprised by the toxicity of many of the postings / strings on the subject. Frankly, to those who feel it's sacrilege - well get over it, change is good etc. The Cayenne is a reality and it's here to stay...
To those who like it - great, you only live once, enjoy etc.
Cheers <img src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" />

Yes, I agree with 'buddyg', I think the cayenne would be a great winter suv. Typically, I drive my humvee offroad, but I think a porsche would be a nice change. I think I may put a deposit on one also. It's just i'm not sure what color to get, maybe I should just buy a couple. Hehe, I don't know if the wife would approve of that investment.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder (to coin a phrase). mpm, please consider telling us which SUVs are beautiful to your eye, so we can better calibrate your opinion on the C.
Perhaps we can better appreciate the toxicity around here if it is offered w/ context.
I am thrilled to see the line starting for it, Porsche buyers have always been brave souls. Selfishly, this will generate the "secondary market", where I live. Can't you just imagine the 3-5 year old, low mileage, garage queen, never driven off-road, as-new C when it comes on market? (I left out the "divorce forces immediate sale" kicker...)
