I completely agree with your comments MPM.
The SUV market is so dead. I am glad someone on this board finally has an informed opinion.
Porsche is 5 years too late, and obviously have BLOWN, repeat, BLOWN a "generation" of 911's for it.
The 996 will go down as the bastard son of the 911 family. From what I read in European Car magazines, the next generation seems to have a more concerted effort to "fix" the things wrong with the current 996. But what could we have expected the 996 to be, when the budget for it is about a third of the budget for the SUV is.
