What are the reliability ratings of a new Jeeps vs. the new Cayennes? Something to consider. IIRC, Chrysler had one of the lowest ratings this year by JD Powers or somebody.

While I am also a Cayenne fan, if I was looking at a company car, I might consider the BMW X5/X6 and the equivalently priced Range Rover., too IMHO, either of those is superior to the SRT-8., which I looked at before buying my used CTT. The SRT-8 is fast and handles great, but the ride is horrendous and on the new ones the towing capaciity is still limited (~3500 lbs IIRC).

I own a racing simulator company, most of my clients "get it", never had any issues with my 997 so I don't think it will be an issue with a Cayenne.

but yeah, haters gonna hate.

It gets funny though when you buy a used cayenne for under 20k.. and the haters are paying more than you for an econobox... ironic

I don't think the vehicles compare very well. The Jeep is fast, there's no doubt about that. If you look at the engineering that went into the Cayenne and the build quality, threres really no comparison. Having driven both, I can tell you that there's no comparison there either. Don't get me wrong - I think the Jeep is fine if that's what you want. I just don't think it's in the same league as the Porsche. If I wanted a Jeep, I'd probably just buy a V8 Grand Cherokee. If I wanted something more like a Cayenne - you guessed it - I'd buy a Cayenne.

Did long, overnight test drives of the Jeep and the Cayenne.
The jeep demo was having issues with things not working properly or in some cases broken.
The cayenne demo was flawless.
Took both into deep snow, highway, secondary roads, city, etc (I have to be in the vehicle for long periods of time, and my test drives are thorough.)
The Jeep neither impressed nor motivated me to buy. The Porsche did motivate me to buy.
This is my primary business vehicle and I get the pleasure of visiting my clients at their homes.
Several clients have commented on the Cayenne. None have been negative comments and some even asked for a drive round the block (some blocks are longer than others - took one client's child round the family farm!)
I am 35,000 km into my experience, and today one of my clients decided to buy a Cayenne for his mother in law on my recommendation.
I wouldn't have done that for a jeep.

The BMW X5/X6 50i would be a great compromise. Faster than the Cayenne S, fully loaded between $70-80K. Maybe doesn't handle as well as the Cayenne, but most reviews rate them very close. Also, don't forget the 50,000 miles fulll maintenance including brakes, your only cost is gas and replacement tires.

Same question as the OP's question was asked about the X5 4.8is vs SRT8...

I'll keep my 955 CTT, thanks.
