Engine Oil
I have a 2004 Cayenne V6.
I have a few questions about changing engine oil.
1. How often should we change the engine oil?
2. How many quarts of engine oil do we need?
3. What brand and grade do you guys recommend?
Thanks a lot for all the advice.

You'll get many answers on this, all of them wrong except mine...
7,500 mi
~9 qts on an "S", don't know about the V6 (see the manual?)
Motul 8100 X-cess in 5w40 (this time)

I change mine around every 5000 miles. I use mobile 1 0w40. I believe the v6 is like 7.1 quarts or so but I just use 7 qts. Many people go more mileage, different oil but it's worked for me.

0w40 may be too thin for the OP in SoCal where temps are rarely below 50F and occasionally hits 100F. 5w40 is still plenty thin at startup and will hold up better at the higher temps.

I recommend changing oil every 5k. The V6 takes around 7 quarts, and Porsche recommends Mobil1 5w30 for the V6. But of course, everyone has their own oil preferences.

For the engine oil, do we have to use full synthetic oil? The V6 engine is just a Volkswagen engine, correct? I just use this Cayenne for easy and normal street drive. No towing, no off-road and any kind of heavy duty stuff.
