Default Replacement order placed 2012 V6

Placed another order today (had to start all over because the dealer missed a component). I took the opportunity to add a few features after reading this forum...more expensive but I think I deserve it after waiting 3-4 more months (7-8 total).

Here's my build (scheduled for September):

2012 Cayenne V6 with 8-Speed Tiptronic
PASM
Jet Black Metallic
Black Standard Interior
Wheel Hub Covers w/Porsche crest
BOSE Audio Package
Deletion of Model Designation
Exterior in High Gloss Black
Roof Rails in Black
Panorama Roof
Porsche Entry & Drive
Premium Plus Package:
14 Way Power Seats
Heated Front And rear seats
Ventilated Front Seats
Parking Assist w/ Rear Camera
Lane Change Assist
Power Rear Sunshades
Light Comfort Package

Hopefully all goes well this time. Maybe if I am lucky the rear camera will be operational by then.

Did you consider the sport steering wheel with the beautiful shift paddles? I read that you ordered from Sonnen this time. Got my Cayman than Cayenne from them. So far they have done everything to make me want to go back for service and my next Porsche.

ventilated seats are amazing, you will love.. wish they could come on 8 ways :-/ (3k basically unless your already getting 14 ways)

and i agree on the no sport steering, sport steering on 911=YES, on Cayenne=NO... mine looks cool but end of day id rather have easier to use multifunction and less of the ugly "chrome"...

if they brought "volcano grey" as option into the Cayenne's id pay 1500-1800 for that option alone.

That is one loaded V6 build! Have you thought about spending $12k or so more for the CS? You would get the Air Susp and obviously the bigger engine for the extra $, maybe a bit more on the discount making the delta even less? Just a thought...

How about wheels? You planning to go aftermarket? Here's to hoping they get it right for you this time around!

air only standard on TT, the 12k also negates out all the similar options so its 12k for the engine and then his options on top... discount should be a good 2500 more however so 9,500 for a V8.

Sorry, should have clarified. Tex would get the air susp since it's included in the prem+ package, which is already in the V6 build above.

very true, i was quick to jump.

just was going back to this: https://rennlist.com/forums/porsche-...immensely.html

i didn't see his premium plus before but @ 69,210 MSRP i almost would jump to the CS but then he would be at: $78,415 +/-, so 9k extra for V8 and then deduct extra 2500 off negotiations... so... 6500$ extra, i'd say thats worth it right there...

Yes, I was very tempted to move up to the CS but it just stretches me beyond my budget (which I have already stretched quite a bit). When I priced a similarly equipped CS I still ended up at ~$84k MSRP and out here in Calif they are selling so quickly that I couldn't get much off the price (~$2k tops). One of the dealers here told me that the next 63 Cayennes they had coming in were all pre-sold. The V8 and AS would have been much appreciated but after some extended test drives in the V6 I think I will be ok.

I really LOVE the the look of the sport steering wheel but I don't do a lot of paddle shifting today and like the multi-function options. If I could get a phone and volume on the sport wheel I would have gone that route.

I went with the stock wheels for now. Partly because I plan to drive the car in the snowy Sierra quite a bit and partly to save money. Wheels are one of the things I can add later but you only get one shot at a Panoramic roof!

Another plug for Sonnen. Since Andrew came as the Service Manager the pricing is now better than the local independents - go figure, plus he did a number of freebies for me. Their parts department gives all the discounts and will match any other vendor/dealer price - without attitude.

Nice build, btw. My primary complaint with the V6 is the sound. Maybe try and see if you can work a Fabspeed second cat delete or full exhaust into the deal? Sonnen sells these too.

Hey Tex94, sounds like a sweet new Cayenne, add more pictures when it arrives. I have a great customer dropping off his 958 Cayenne V6 this month for the full exhaust and Air Intake. We will developing a Maxflo Muffler with Dual Tips, 2ndary Catbypass Pipes and an Air Intake system. I will keep you posted when it arrives, but I would look into doing these upgrades once we have them available as they will wake up the sound and power of the V6. Let me know if you have any questions.
thanks,

Agree completely on the paddle wheel and Sonnen. Mike Gray sold me both my Carrera and Cayenne and Andrew has been great in service. First rate attention and follow-up on everything.

I agree with you on the ventilated seats. I would never have thought them worthwhile and wouldn't have ordered them except that they came with the premium plus package. Now I love them; on a hot day they really add to comfort.

Disagree on the sport wheel. I wanted the same paddles and shift function in both Porsches. I don't miss the multifunction controls at all, and the sport wheel looks and feels great with trim that matches the rest of the dash. TEHO, I guess.

For my money, I would bounce the Premium Plus package and the PASM and get the 'S'. The performance is incredible.

thanks,
Thanks. Will be very interested to see what you come up with for the V6. An extra 60-80hp would be very sweet.

I think we will make a dynamite exhaust and intake system that will wake up the V6 and give it a little more growl. Hopefully we can squeeze out a little more then 60+HP

alex- keep us posted on your developments for the V6! I'm loving my '11 stick shift v6, but a little extra power couldn't hurt :-)
