80K miles service
What type of services are included in the 80K service? I got a quote from the dealer for a total over $700 (~$200 for parts and ~$500 for labor). any help will be appreciated.

80k mile "major" maintenance according to the service manual is about "inspecting" around 30 things and: 1) oil change, 2) interior particle filter, and 3) air filters. All the filters are very easy DIY (and cheap - prob $70 in parts total).
Up to you if an incremental $400-$500 for the dealer inspections is worth it. If it were me and the vehicle was no longer under warranty, I'd just do the three things above and not worry about the rest / or inspect them to your best ability on your own. I am pretty sure anyone could top off the washer fluid, inspect the seat belts, inspect trailer hitch, check the drive belt, look for fluid leaks, etc. Probably a lot of us are doing these anyway!
Or do as EW suggests and negotiate a much lower fee.

great, thanks for the info. I will continue to use my independent mechanics for the oil change. Also the filters were replaced about 8K miles ago when the car hit the 70K miles mark. How often do I need to change them?
