Default Replacing CDR23 on Porsche Cayenne 06

Hi all,

I've been wanting to replace the cdr23 unit by a nav system from alpine. Anyone have any experience installing this? I mean, I read that I must purchase a MOST interface and I found something at NAV-TV.

Here's the alpine unit I'm talking about. Do you recommend something better?

Thank you for the help,
Ryan

If ur gonna replace the head unit, you won't need the MOST system.

The MOST system is just a box that allows regular connections into the fiberoptic MOST inputs on the back of the OEM head unit.

there are also aftermarket harnesses that can retain the controls on the steering wheel, like 80 bucks....and they also now make a dumbed down version CDR23 version of Mobridge Ipod connections for the CD changer connection in the rear, I think its 200-400 bucks.........if all you want is ipod. but if you want to add nav, rear back up camera, its cheaper to go the after market route you are going...and add the harness to retain factory controls.

How will you get the audio to the amp and speakers with out a MOST Bridge of some kind? What will you plug the new head unit into?
How will you get any type of display in the gauge cluster?
How will you retain any of the steering wheel controls?

You will need to add a new amp, pull new wiring, and change out the speakers to bypass the MOST system, and you will still lose the display and wheel controls.

Someone please try the MOST-HUR interface to see if it really "plug and plays" as advertised
