Question Cayenne loss of controls on steering wheel

Hi,

I have an issue with my Cayenne where all the controls on the steering wheel and column are not working - ie radio, tipronic, indicators, wipers etc.

On the dash the radio and emergency indicators all work fine.

Hopefully someone can advise me of a solution

Thanks

Darren

Dashboard Fusebox, Left Side: Check fuses 8 (30A), 33 (15A), 44 (30A) & 53 (5A)

If you've had anything 'aftermarket' recently installed on the vehicle, there may be a correlation between it and the problems that you're experiencing.

What did the problem end up being? I'm having the exact same issue with my 2006 cayenne.

Any results as I have no steering wheel (i.e no tiptronic, radio or mute) buttons or lights to the steering wheel. All fuses are good. Is there a module that controls these wheel buttons? 2003 Cayenne S Tip

I had a problem like this when I installed a generic control module for one of my truck's Xenon headlamps. The headlamp worked fine, but for whatever reason the controller caused the steering wheel controls and PCM to shut down from time to time. Switching to the right factory headlamp controller cleared the problem (and my wallet). So consistent with others' mention of CAN bus failures. Good luck!
